Thank you for your interest in the Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee. Founded in 1870, The Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee is a diverse gathering of concerned and active citizens dedicated to making Stafford County a great place to live and work. What We Do. The Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee exists to facilitate and encourage participation of all residents in choosing their political destiny.
Get Involved to Elect Democrats. As a member of the Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee, there are many ways that you can participate in electing Democrats and supporting Democratic Party campaigns and events, among them: organizing fundraisers, sponsoring forums and candidate debates, distributing literature, canvassing neighborhoods and getting-out-the-vote, mentoring “Young Democrats” at our local schools’ civic organizations, and writing letters to the editor of local papers to support our candidates and our issues. We also sponsor a variety of community service projects. Elections in 2008 On February 12, 2008, Virginia Democrats will cast their votes for the Democratic Party nominee for President of the United States. And Virginia could be a major player in the nomination outcome. In the Spring, we will nominate Former Gov. Mark Warner to be our next United States Senator. And a First District convention will take place to nominate a Democrat to run for the U.S. House of Representatives!
